OUR STORY
Pierce Systems Inc started small. One truck, a phone that rang at odd hours, and a reputation built one customer at a time. Twenty-six years later the fleet is larger and the scope is wider, but the operating principle has not moved. Do the work properly and the phone keeps ringing. First up: furnaces and water heaters. Central cooling and air conditioning came next, with more houses having air conditioning. Next was a full plumbing, as the customers would continue to request it and we preferred to train our own people rather than sending a stranger. Now, one company is able to substitute your furnace, replace your water heater and clear your primary drain within the same week. That range matters more than it sounds. A slow plumbing leak can destroy a furnace sitting beside it. A poorly vented water heater can backdraft into living space. Seeing the whole system prevents the repair that quietly creates the next problem.

HVAC Installation
An installation system is only as good as the day it goes in. Here we do an actual heating and cooling load calculation, rather than just copying the old nameplate. Ductwork is checked to see if it has any blockages that would starve even the best ductwork. Altitude is used to set gas appliances and combustion analyzers tested. Next, we commission the system and register your warranty.
HVAC Maintenance
A tune-up should NOT only consist of a filter change and sticker. Ours covers blower amp draw, capacitor readings, refrigerant charge, condensate drainage, safety controls and heat exchanger inspection. Most failures do not occur without some months of warning as numbers slowly creep out of range. That's a much less expensive call in July than in the spring.
HVAC Repair
Guesswork gets expensive fast. We test and locate the actual issue and present the reading prior to quoting anything. Igniters, flame sensors, capacitors, contactors, blower motors and control boards all have their own distinct failure modes. We stock the most frequently-replacing components in our trucks so you typically can expect a part back the same day if they are for heat or cooling.

Which areas do you serve?
We work daily out of Brighton which is our base. In addition we also provide service to Northglenn and Thornton, Westminster and Broomfield, both residential and commercial properties.
Should I repair my system or replace it?
It requires three factors. The age of the system, the cost of repair versus replacement and performance to date. An igniter costing $200 can be installed in a ten-year old furnace, and it can be repaired. A sixteen-year-old unit facing a cracked heat exchanger is not. We provide you with two numbers, you make the choice! Never will we coerce a replacement on equipment that has years left!
What does a maintenance visit actually include?
Far more than a filter change. Electrical draw on the blower and compressor is measured, capacitors are tested under a load, refrigerant charge is tested, condensate lines are cleaned out, gas pressure is tested, and the heat exchanger is inspected for cracks. All safety controls are tested. A written report is provided with readings, allowing you to view how your system is performing year-to-year.
Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes. We work with rooftop package units, commercial boilers, tankless systems, and commercial drain lines, as well as other systems on a regular basis. Our list includes restaurants, offices, retail and rental property portfolios. Commercial jobs can be scheduled outside of operating hours, while your business carries on as usual.
What happens during a free project evaluation?
A tech visits the building, sizes it, reviews current equipment and ductwork, and asks you what you do in the building. You then get a written scope with set pricing and if applicable 2 or 3 sets of equipment at various prices. No pressure and no deposit to think it over.
How often should heating, cooling and plumbing systems be serviced?
Your HVAC system requires maintenance twice a year. Early Fall cooling and Spring heating. Filters should be checked monthly when there is heavy use. Sediment is removed from a water heater with a yearly flush. When a drain backs up for the second time, it is time to consider a camera inspection if it isn’t an emergency.
